1. Policy Statement

CarePlus Integrated Services is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all adults and children using our services. We operate a zero tolerance approach to abuse, neglect, exploitation, and harm.

This policy aligns with:

  • Care Act 2014
  • Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006
  • CQC Fundamental Standards

2. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • Service users
  • Employees and agency staff
  • Contractors and volunteers

3. Types of Abuse

Safeguarding concerns may include:

  • Physical abuse
  • Emotional or psychological abuse
  • Sexual abuse
  • Financial or material abuse
  • Neglect and acts of omission
  • Discriminatory abuse
  • Modern slavery

4. Responsibilities

All staff must:

  • Remain vigilant to safeguarding concerns
  • Report concerns immediately
  • Complete safeguarding training

Managers are responsible for:

  • Reporting concerns to local safeguarding authorities
  • Liaising with CQC and other agencies

5. Reporting Concerns

Safeguarding concerns must be reported immediately to:

  • Line Manager or Safeguarding Lead
  • Local Authority Safeguarding Team
  • Emergency services if there is immediate danger

All concerns are recorded, investigated, and acted upon appropriately.

6. Confidentiality

Information is shared only on a need to know basis and in line with data protection law.
