2. Scope
This policy applies to:
- Service users
- Employees and agency staff
- Contractors and volunteers
3. Types of Abuse
Safeguarding concerns may include:
- Physical abuse
- Emotional or psychological abuse
- Sexual abuse
- Financial or material abuse
- Neglect and acts of omission
- Discriminatory abuse
- Modern slavery
4. Responsibilities
All staff must:
- Remain vigilant to safeguarding concerns
- Report concerns immediately
- Complete safeguarding training
Managers are responsible for:
- Reporting concerns to local safeguarding authorities
- Liaising with CQC and other agencies
5. Reporting Concerns
Safeguarding concerns must be reported immediately to:
- Line Manager or Safeguarding Lead
- Local Authority Safeguarding Team
- Emergency services if there is immediate danger
All concerns are recorded, investigated, and acted upon appropriately.

Information is shared only on a need to know basis and in line with data protection law.
